Since 1981 Galaxy has developed residential and commercial properties throughout the five boroughs. Headed by Steve Zervoudis, Galaxy has become a prominent developer, contractor, and manager of low and moderate income housing. Over the past 34 years, Galaxy has rehabilitated or constructed approximately 235 buildings with almost 6,500 units, as well as numerous two, three, and four family homes. Many of the projects completed by Galaxy involved rehabilitation of apartment buildings (both occupied and vacant), and construction of new apartments and commercial space. Over 85 projects were complete gut-renovations.

In 2008 Steve and his four sons established Galaxy G.C. Group LLC. Galaxy G.C. Group acts as a General Contractor, while Galaxy General Contracting Corp. focuses on constructing company owned real-estate developments. Each project has a principal and a lead manager, with a dedicated and diverse staff who work closely with the owners, government agencies, and design team to deliver a completed project meeting all your needs. Galaxy’s team is proud to have added many unique buildings to New York’s skyline.

Through the years Galaxy has done work for both public and private agencies as well as private owners. Many projects have been funded by the NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD), the NYC Housing Development Corporation (HDC), and the Community Preservation Corporation (CPC). After the devastation of Superstorm Sandy, Galaxy was one of 3 contractors assigned to New York’s Build it Back program, tasked with rebuilding homes and helping local families displaced by the storm.
