As we celebrate our 40th anniversary, Galaxy is proud to have added many unique buildings to New York’s skyline.
We have developed residential and commercial properties throughout the 5 boroughs and New Jersey. Since 1981, Galaxy has become a prominent developer, contractor, and manager of low and moderate income housing. We have rehabilitated or constructed over 250 buildings and more than 8,000 units, as well as numerous two, three, and four family homes. Many of the projects completed by Galaxy involved rehabilitation of apartment buildings (both occupied and vacant), and construction of new apartments and commercial space. Over 90 projects were complete gut-renovations.
In 2008 Galaxy G.C. Group LLC was established, focusing solely on the construction management line of business while Galaxy General Contracting Corp. continues to focus on real-estate developments.
We work closely with both public and private agencies as well as private owners. Many projects have been funded by the NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD), the NYC Housing Development Corporation (HDC), and the Community Preservation Corporation (CPC). After the devastation of Superstorm Sandy, Galaxy was one of 3 contractors assigned to New York’s Build it Back program, tasked with rebuilding homes and helping local families displaced by the storm.
