  • This newly built project is a seven-story, 62-unit, block-and-plank building. At the time of completion it was the first energy efficient, affordable housing complex in the nation. All finishes and furnishings have low-impact on the air quality in the building and materials were chosen for their durability, sustainability and energy efficiency. All apartments have energy efficient windows and appliances as well as sustainable bamboo flooring. The building includes a first floor daycare center, a backyard playground, and a green roof. The playground pavers and rubber surfaces are made from recycled materials and are permeable. The roof contains a garden bed planted with low-growing sedum that adds insulation and absorbs water
